Shailesh Baliram Narwade

Shailesh Narwade is a filmmaker, writer and a former media professional. He has written, produced and directed Marathi feature named ‘Jayanti-2’, ‘Jayanti’ and ‘Roommates’. His film ‘Jayanti’ was nominated for 4 Maharashtra State Film Awards (won 1) and 5 Filmfare Marathi Awards (won 1). The film was released theatrically on 12 November 2021 across Maharashtra, and is streaming on Amazon Prime Video. Shailesh has worked for over a decade with print and electronic media, namely The Hitavada in Nagpur, The Free Press Journal, Reliance Communications Ltd, and CNBC-Network18 Group in Mumbai. He has written and directed Hindi-language plays, of which ‘Mahatkritya’ won State Government awards; while his latest play ‘Maseeha’ was invited to IPTA’s prestigious Platinum Jubilee National Festival, held in Patna in October 2018. Shailesh is a regular member of Indian Motion Pictures Producers Association (IMPPA), Screen Writers Association (SWA), Screenwriters Rights Association of India (SRAI), Western India Film Producers’ Association (WIFPA), and Akhil Bharatiya Marathi Chitrapat Mahamandal. He is the founder of Meliorist Film Studio.
