Greg Gullberg is a media expert. He is a well-rounded visual storyteller. He is primarily based in Los Angeles, Ca.
Gullberg wears many hats, including being a Hollywood filmmaker. He is primarily an independent producer. He has worked on many feature films, series, and music videos, many of which have been featured in film festivals. Gullberg has collaborated with numerous Oscar and Emmy award-winning writers, directors, and producers. In addition to the "Produced By" credit, Gullberg is also a writer, director, editor, cinematographer, executive producer, series creator, web developer, and actor.
Greg Gullberg has worked for numerous major Hollywood companies. He's worked for major studios including Paramount Pictures, Sony Pictures, and Lionsgate. He's worked for major networks including ABC, CBS, Motor Trend TV, and Nickelodeon. Gullberg has worked at four top Hollywood production companies, each with major studio deals, including at Warner Bros, Disney, and Universal Studios. He has also worked at two top Beverly Hills talent management firms.
Greg Gullberg has been a Marketing/ PR specialist for a startup film studio in Georgia, called Moon River Studios. That film studio was expected to grow to be a multi-billion dollar complex. However, it was marred by controversy and financial backing fell through. The studio eventually folded.
Greg Gullberg attended the 2018 Academy Awards (Oscars 90). Gullberg's Oscars appearance became a national controversy when Fox News reported that following a military tribute the "reactions from the A-Listers in the audience were lackluster." Coming out of the military appreciation montage, the ABC cameras cut to Christopher Nolan, whose film Dunkirk (2017) was nominated that year. Then, cameras cut to a close-up of Gullberg. Then, back to host Jimmy Kimmel, who apologized for Matt Damon appearing in that montage (as per their long-running faux-rivalry). Fox News: Fox & Friends anchors spotlighted Nolan and Gullberg, calling their applause "underwhelming" and "lukewarm." Gullberg maintains that he is grateful for our brave men and women in uniform who courageously serve our country. His modest applause was merely an attempt to be polite at the formal venue. Furthermore, Gullberg does not agree with Fox News' assessment that he is an "A-Lister."
Greg Gullberg started his media career at CNN World Headquarters in Atlanta, Ga. in 2010. He contributed to the Special Investigations Unit, Morning Express with Robin Meade, and Sanjay Gupta MD. He also acted as liaison between the Clark Howard Program ("Save more, spend less, and avoid getting ripped off") and WSB (#1 rated ATL station; top 10 market). Gullberg has even done voice-over work for some CNN special reports. Next, he worked in broadcast news for several small market stations as an anchor, reporter, and producer.
Greg Gullberg was born in upstate New York and grew up in St. Louis, Mo. His family is still in the Show Me State. Of course, he considers L.A. to be his adopted home.
Greg Gullberg earned an MFA in 2019 from UCLA (a top 20 university). In UCLA film school (a top 3 college) he did the Producers Program (development, production, & marketing). He is earning an MBA at Isenberg business school (top 50 program) at the University of Massachusetts (UMass, the #1 public business school in the Northeast). He also has an M.A. in Organizational Leadership (2020) from the University of Oklahoma, his alma mater.
Gullberg earned his B.A. in 2010 from the University of Oklahoma, where he majored in Journalism and he minored in International Studies. He worked on the daily Live student newscast, OU Nightly, where he held nearly every position over three years. He also wrote for the student newspaper, OU Daily. As an avid Sooners fan, Gullberg had several football stories get picked up by ESPN-U.
As an undergrad, Gullberg acted in live theater, including performing in the Diary of Anne Frank. Over the summers, he went home to be a radio DJ for KCFV 89.5 The Wave in St. Louis (top 30 market). He hosted a Live four-hour pop-music show during weekday afternoon Drive-Time. He also served as a research field assistant on an Archaeoastronomical expedition in Peru, exploring artifacts left from the ancient Incan civilization in caves and temples in remote regions of the Andes.
In high school, Gullberg won blue ribbons (first place) in three consecutive science fairs. He won blue ribbons at his school, county level, and even the grand prize at the regional level. He used soda cans wrapped in colored construction paper and treats to prove his dog is, in fact, color blind. Later, he demonstrated the Earth's tilt of 23.5 degrees by charting sunsets along the horizon out of his bedroom window every night for a year as our planet rotates on its axis through four seasons. Finally, he measured the speed of the moon, to demonstrate how it accelerates and decelerates at different phases of its lunar cycle. He was voted by his peers "Most likely to make a scientific breakthrough."
In his leisure time, Greg Gullberg enjoys hiking, kayaking, and binge-watching (way too much) TV. He enjoys flying Cessna 172s (small airplanes) with his dad. He likes upgrading his iPhone to explore the latest features. Furthermore, he enjoys embracing Hollywood stereotypes by sitting at coffee shops (hopefully with free parking), reading and writing screenplays, and discussing driving directions around the City of Angels.
