Jon Altham is a British music producer, composer, and entertainment executive, and the founder of SoundWave Studios® Music Group (SWSMG), a company focused on developing and managing music for film, television, and visual media.
He began his career in artist management before moving into composition and production for film, working across independent features and short-form projects. In 2018, he founded SWSMG, building a model that combines creative production with a focus on music rights and long-term value.
Through SWSMG, Altham oversees music development and production linked to a global film and television slate with multi-billion dollar aggregate production value. His work spans original composition, soundtrack development, production-linked music, and executive film production across a wide range of projects.
His credits include work connected to internationally recognised and Oscar-qualifying productions including The Great Artist (2020) and North Star (2022).
As a producer, composer, and songwriter, he has collaborated with artists and music professionals including Pia Toscano, Nina Kraljic, Blanco White, GRAMMY® Winning Producer & Engineer Ken Lewis, GRAMMY® & Emmy® Nominated Mixing Engineer Jorge Vivo. His work has received multiple international awards and nominations across categories including original score, soundtrack, and song, with releases charting across several territories.
A central part of his work is producing original songs for film and television, combining artist-led records with narrative media. This includes ongoing collaborations with performers such as Pia Toscano, with projects recognised at industry events including the Hollywood Music in Media Awards.
Alongside his production work, Altham has developed a focus on how music is owned and monetised within the screen industries, with an emphasis on retaining rights and aligning creative and commercial outcomes. His work is grounded in the principle that ownership is not binary, but structured, allowing creators to participate in the long-term value of their work.
In parallel, he is the creator of The Artist’s Blueprint, an open-access framework exploring creator economics, intellectual property ownership, and the practical mechanics of building sustainable creative careers. The framework is structured around two modes: the "A-Side", centred on systems and execution, and the "B-Side", representing the creative process.
Beyond his work in music and media, Altham has held board-level roles within the non-profit sector, with responsibilities spanning safeguarding, quality assurance, and risk oversight.
