Glitter is a costume designer, stylist, makeup artist, and performer. Their work is informed by a love of all things fancy, glittery, gothic and grotesque. Glitter is an active participant in NYC queer nightlife and drag scene, as well as a visual artist and fashion designer.
Aesthetic influences include vintage porn, 20th century burlesque, Lisa Frank, emo/"scene" fashion, children's toys, Riot Grrrl, Harujuku & Lolita styles, glam rock, Dada, medical history, New Romantics, 18th century fashion, and club kid aesthetics.
They are inspired by films such as Repo! The Genetic Opera and Velvet Goldmine, as well as the work of performing artists Emilie Autumn, Amanda Palmer; as well as visual artists Junko Mizuno, Pip & Pop, Scott Hove, Louis Fleischauer (AMF Korsets), and many, many others.
