- Member of the League of Empire Loyalists who made headlines in 1957 when he assaulted John Grigg as Grigg left ITV Studios after defending himself in an interview for writing that Queen Elizabeth was cut off from her subjects by her "tweedy" courtiers, whom he blamed for her speaking style, which he called "a pain in the neck", and for her coming across in public as "a priggish school girl". Burbage was later found guilty, and fined a pound for the assault.
