Mini bio

  • Jenny Lea (Jennifer MacCormack) is a Vancouver-based singer, songwriter, and DJ whose work spans electro-R&B, hip-hop, and soul. With a career built on the strength of her songwriting, her music has been licensed for television across North America, with placements on Workin' Moms, Wynonna Earp, Wu Assassins, Good Trouble, Yellowjackets, as well as brand partnerships with Patagonia and Lululemon.

As the lead vocalist, primary songwriter, and 1/3 of the production team of the electro-R&B trio I M U R, Jenny Lea co-wrote and performed the catalogue that earned the group a Canadian Songwriting Competition win for Best Electronic Song (2017) and the Western Canadian Music Award for Best Electronic Artist (2019). The band's music reached the Spotify Viral 50 and charted on Billboard, with their albums and EPs accumulating millions of streams across platforms. I M U R toured extensively across Canada, the United States, and India, performing at major festivals including Bumbershoot, Shambhala, and Bass Coast.

In 2020, Jenny Lea co-founded NADUH, a five-piece female R&B and hip-hop collective. The group's debut EP HOMIESEXUAL surpassed half a million streams, and the group received a Western Canadian Music Award nomination for R&B Artist of the Year in 2022. NADUH has performed on main stages at festivals including Rifflandia, and continues to release and perform independently through Birthday Cake Records.

Beyond her work as a performer, Jenny Lea is an active advocate for women in the music industry, having served as a panelist for Breakout West and Women in Music BC on topics including sync licensing and the business of songwriting.
