A native of Chicago's South Side, Richard began writing fiction while studying criminal justice at Loyola University Chicago. As a United States Secret Service special agent, Richard protected U.S. presidents and foreign dignitaries and investigated major domestic and international financial crimes.
He brings unique law enforcement subject matter expertise to the entertainment industry. While a rookie special agent, he chased U.S. Treasury thieves and forgers, and retired as the supervisor of a multi-agency task force investigating complex organized crime. He traveled globally with the Secret Service, "living" history while performing his protective duties for U.S. presidents and foreign dignitaries.
Richard very much prefers writing novels and screenplays over investigative reports.
