Biography

Ronald J. Rossmann Jr. is an author, filmmaker, and the creative force behind Be Your Own Hero Productions, LLC. Known for blending suspense, emotion, and originality, Ronald has built a reputation in the independent film world with projects spanning multiple genres, most notably horror. His work includes the award-winning full-length fan film The Devil’s Daughter: A Harley Quinn Story and his latest feature, You’re It!, a Carolina-shot slasher that continues his tradition of immersive storytelling. He is also the creator of the award-winning short Rescue.

A storyteller at heart, Ronald is equally passionate about writing. His debut novel, The Lost Road to Hope, inspired by his mother’s battle with cancer, imagines survivors as unexpected heroes in an apocalyptic world.

Beyond film and fiction, Ronald is committed to building community through creativity. He leads a cosplay collective that brings joy and hope to charity and convention events across the Carolinas, often donning the cowl and cape of the Dark Knight.

Ronald studied theology and psychology before a successful three-decade career in talent acquisition and development across a variety of industries. He currently serves as Chief Operating Officer at a leading staffing agency, driving growth and innovation while continuing to pursue his creative passions.
