Biography

  • Luca Pirero is a filmmaker and actor trained at the Kulturama School in Stockholm, where he studied the Stanislavsky system and film direction. He further developed his craft through workshops in Laban, Meisner, Ivana Chubbuck, and Meyerhold's bio-mechanics, as well as masterclasses with Giancarlo Giannini and Abel Ferrara in Rome. In 2013, Luca worked as assistant director for the Divine performance at the Nobel Banquet in Stockholm and directed two theatrical plays. As a filmmaker, he debuted with the short film Apart (2024), serving as co-screenwriter, director, editor, and producer, collaborating with acclaimed editor Michal Leszczylowski (The Sacrifice by Andrei Tarkovsky). His work often explores themes of the individual versus society, family drama, and the paradoxical humor of life. He is writing a new short film and a feature, in continued collaboration with Leszczylowski.
