Biography

Margot Budzyna is a filmmaker known for her atemporal visual style and distinct directorial vision. Her newest project, Deuce, premiered at the 2025 Slamdance Film Festival where she was awarded the prestigious AGBO Fellowship by the Russo Brothers. Her previous short RAPT was EP'd by Oscar Winner Andrew Carlberg and garnered recognition at festivals including Palm Springs Shorts Fest, Hollyshorts and Nashville Film Festival. The feature script she co-wrote by the same name was selected as a Quarterfinalist for the Academy Nicholl Writing Fellowship. Margot's direction is rooted in her theatrical training background at RADA and beyond and her former experience as an actor, including projects for Netflix, CBS, HBO, TIFF, and Cannes. Her artistic approach blends grounded emotional storytelling with stylized, timeless settings, focusing on innovative narratives that highlight femme and queer perspectives.
