Biography

Tristina Lee is the kind of actress that makes you laugh and ache at the same time. Queens-raised and New York-rooted, she’s a Rice University graduate and Second City-trained performer with a scene opposite Jennifer Lopez in the TIFF premiere film Unstoppable. She leads many festival shorts (ABFF, BAFTA Longlist, Micheaux Film Festive) as well as Many Thousands Lost - an ABFF selection that is now streaming on American Airlines flights worldwide. Her TV credits include HBO’s Rap Sh!t, Peacock’s Bel-Air, BET's American Gangster: Trap Queens, Issa Rae’s BSU, and Kevin Hart’s LOL. Also a writer, dancer, and choreographer, she champions stories that feel specific, layered, and impossible to look away from.

Her short film The Flacalta Effect earned a Best Short Narrative nomination at the BlackStar Film Festival (2024).

Trained at The Second City in Chicago, the legendary improv and sketch comedy institution whose alumni include Tina Fey, Steve Carell, and Bill Murray.

Graduated from Rice University in Houston, Texas - one of the country's top research universities - before pursuing acting full-time.

Grew up in Queens, New York.
