Biography

Dide Su Bilgin is a Turkish-American writer and filmmaker. She holds a BFA in Film Production from the University of British Columbia and works across narrative film and episodic storytelling. Her producing credits include Breakaway (2019), streaming on CBC Gem, and the narrative feature 'A Welcome Distraction', which premiered at the 2025 Vancouver International Film Festival with three sold-out screenings. She was selected for the Vancouver International Film Festival’s Catalyst Program in 2022 and named an inaugural director in the Composer Filmmaker Accelerator Program in 2023, recording original work with the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra. Her short film 'Just Me and the Dogs' (2025) screened with live orchestral accompaniment at VIFF AMP. She is developing her feature 'Alaturka', which was shortlisted for the 2026 Sundance Feature Film Development Lab, and a comedy fantasy TV Series called 'MIDGIRLS'.
