  • Biniyam Abreha is an Ethiopian American actor and director based in Los Angeles. After a brief career in Architecture, he studied at the Susan Batson Studio as well as with Yale School of Drama faculty Gregory Berger at the Berg Studios. Biniyam recently appeared in the final two episodes of Stranger Things (Netflix) and co-starred on American Auto (NBC). He has also appeared in multiple stage productions as part of the Loft Ensemble.

    Biniyam wrote and directed the short film 'Barakah', which was programmed in multiple festivals across the US, became a finalist at the World Culture Film Festival and was selected by Lift-off Global Network as part of its 'Filmmakers In the Spotlight' showcase. He also wrote a feature script 'Burning Bushes', which was selected as a second-round finalist for the Sundance Institute Development Track and is currently working on producing a documentary short. In all his creative work, Biniyam seeks to integrate his cultural background with his passion in film, painting and design, mainly focusing on personal storytelling through narrative and documentary work.
