Tyrone J. Dangerfield is a multi-talented writer, producer, and filmmaker, whose life and work have been influenced by both sides of the law. Born and raised in Oakland, California, he has witnessed firsthand the stark contrast between his grandfather's role as a historic police figure and his father's tragic addiction to crack, which ultimately led to his murder in a drug deal gone bad.

Tyrone's insatiable curiosity and fascination with both lifestyles is reflected in his critically acclaimed book, A Dangerfield Manifesto, which delves deep into the complexities of human behavior and the intricacies of the criminal justice system. He spent several years as a ghostwriter and ghost producer in the music industry before transitioning into film, where he has made a significant impact in a relatively short period of time.

In his debut film appearance, Tyrone starred alongside Grey's Anatomy's Jesse Williams and Empire's Malik Yoba in the groundbreaking documentary, Question Bridge: Black Males. The film, which explores the perspectives of black men in America, has been widely praised and featured in the Smithsonian Museum's National Museum of African American History and Culture.

Building on the success of his debut, Tyrone produced the 2014 Peachtree International Film Festival's Best Inspirational Documentary Short-winning film, Mikey, which focuses on the life of a young man overcoming the odds to achieve his dreams. This pivotal moment in his career inspired Tyrone to establish The Oakland Film Company.

The first feature film from The Oakland Film Company, The Broken Rose, a powerful exploration of the devastating effects of human trafficking, has garnered critical acclaim and numerous accolades, including Best Picture at both the San Francisco Black Film Festival and The Sacramento International Film Festival. Tyrone's dedication to telling impactful stories with depth and nuance has established him as a rising force in the entertainment industry and a vital voice for underrepresented communities.
