Gracing the cover of her first magazine at just a few hours old, Danika Frederick knew how to find her light before she knew she was conscious. A competitive dancer, figure skater, model, and guitarist in a heavy metal band, the Winnipeg, Manitoba-born actress was no stranger to performing throughout her childhood and teenage years.
Despite her passion for performance, Danika decided to pursue academia and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in microbiology and biology from the University of Manitoba, with intentions (and an acceptance letter) to pursue her doctorate. During her studies, she worked as a Labatt girl and danced professionally as a cheerleader for the CFL’s Winnipeg Blue Bombers. The universe had other plans, however, and although she didn’t quite follow in Pamela Anderson’s footsteps, her dance career unexpectedly led her into the world of TV and Film.
After booking her very first audition in the Lionsgate feature film I Still See You, Danika decided to trade a life in science for a life on set. She relocated to Vancouver, British Columbia, where her career gained momentum with roles on networks such as Apple TV, Netflix, CBS, and Lifetime.
As of 2026, Danika splits her time between Los Angeles, California and her native Canada. When she’s not acting, she pursues another passion: working with children by supporting their own academic and creative endeavours.
