Biography

Tigran Makaryan is an Armenian actor known for his work in film, television, and theater. Born into a family of actors - John Makaryan and Hasmik Hovsepyan (known as Jasmen) - he was immersed in the world of performing arts from a young age. His early years were spent backstage, growing up in theaters alongside his parents, which sparked his passion for acting.

In 2006, Tigran had his first on-screen experience in Alexander Atanesyan's film Svolochi (Bastards), where he was cast in mass scenes as a prisoner child. This experience solidified his decision to pursue acting professionally.

In 2008, he was accepted into the Yerevan State Institute of Cinematography and Theatre, in the master class of renowned director Armen Elbakyan. During his studies, Tigran performed on some of Armenia's most prestigious stages, including the Gabriel Sundukyan National Academic Theatre and the Edgar Elbakyan Marionette Theatre.

His breakout television role came in 2010, starring as Levon in the popular Armenian TV series School of Angels, which aired until 2012. The show gained a large following and catapulted Tigran to national fame. After graduating, he served two years in the Armenian army, during which he also hosted the patriotic TV program Fighter, highlighting exemplary Armenian soldiers and granting them public recognition and leave.

In 2014, shortly after completing military service, he was cast in the lead role of Sevak in Interrupted Flight, a film by Sharm Holding based on the tragic 2006 Yerevan-Sochi flight disaster. He starred opposite actress Tatev Hovakimyan (Arevik), delivering a performance that earned critical attention.

Tigran continues to work in both film and television, recognized for his emotional depth, natural screen presence, and dedication to his craft.
