Daniel Scott Murphy is the youngest child of three brothers and is son to Tony Murphy and Lillie Graham (who later remarried). He was born in Mountain Home Idaho. He served in the Kansas National Guard from 1999 through 2008 - serving in overseas during wartime in 2003 and again in 2007. He graduated with a Marketing degree from Fort Hays State University in 2004. He moved to Texas in 2005 where he worked in finance at a Countrywide Home Loans. In 2007, he married Candace Hladdik who convinced him to moved back to Kansas in 2009. After having moved to Kansas, he changed his career path by receiving a degree in Management Information Systems from Wichita State University in 2010 and later worked as a web developer and marketing specialist.
Daniel became immersed in the art of photography starting in 2007 and continues to shoot on a daily basis. Since technology introduced the possibility to record video on DSLR cameras, he became interested in shooting his own short film. In 2016 he wrote the script of The Equilibrium of Life that he would later direct, film, and edit. His goal of producing the film was to pay homage to the stories of Alfred Hitchcock's Twilight Zone. While in post-production, he raised over $1,000 on Kickstarter so he could pay his actors. The Equilibrium of Life was produced with a next to zero budget.
