Kevin Kapellas is an American actor, writer, director, and producer. He appeared in the biblical feature His Only Son and has built his career across both performance and independent filmmaking.
Kapellas wrote, directed, produced, and starred in the short film A Lion’s Heart, which earned multiple awards and finalist selections on the independent festival circuit, including recognition from the Los Angeles Film Awards and Independent Shorts Awards. He followed with the Western short A Tale of Earl Gray, which he co-wrote, produced, and starred in. The film won Best Western Short at Indie Short Fest and received additional finalist and official selection recognition.
Before pursuing film, Kapellas played NCAA Division I football at Eastern Illinois University, where he was a team captain, three-year starter, four-year letterman, and All-Conference selection. The experience continues to shape the preparation, discipline, and collaborative approach he brings to filmmaking.
After beginning his career as an actor, Kapellas expanded into creating his own material as a writer and producer and later as a director. His work gravitates toward character-driven stories exploring family, identity, resilience, and the choices people make under pressure. He continues to act while writing, developing, directing, and producing independent narrative projects through Prosper Seneca.
