Biography

Jarryd O'Keefe is an Australian writer and filmmaker with experience in script writing, directing, cinematography and editing. During his film career he has worked in many different countries such as Thailand, Singapore, India, China, New Zealand, Vanuatu and across his native country; Australia. He has made documentary films in multiple languages including Thai, Karon, Kannada, Bislama and English. Jarryd's work in foreign conditions was first recognised in 2016 when his film; Muay Thai - The Spirit of Ram Muay was bestowed with a best film award at the Thailand International Film Destination Festival in Bangkok. Since then his work has gone on to receive numerous awards and festival recognition. Including selections in prestigious International festivals such as the Academy Award qualifying Los Angeles Asian Pacific Film Festival, Byron Bay International Film Festival, Gold Coast Film Festival, West End Film Festival. Jarryd was also the most nominated individual with 3 award nominations in 2018 at the Queensland Emerging Screen Talent Awards for his film Strongfala Kalja, which was apart of the Brisbane International Film Festival.

Jarryd has qualifications in Multimedia, Live Theatre Productions and Events, a Diploma of Screen and Media from SAE College and a Bachelor Degree of Film and Screen Media Production from Griffith University.

Jarryd's main focus at present is as a writer. He is writing feature length scripts and novels.
