Biography

Among Luis Felipe's humanist education there are diverse courses in History of Art, Opera and Classical Greece, likewise he has studied in Italy, Australia, Mexico, Spain, the UK and the USA. In 2009 he completed his undergraduate studies in Media Communications with a major in Cinema by the Universidad Iberoamericana and in 2011, he finished his Master's degree in Humanities and Culture at the Instituto Cultural Helénico. Along with his wife, Valeria Estefan, he is co-founder of the boutique film house Polytropos AC. As a cultural producer-director, Luis Felipe has filmed Resilience for a Note. The Documentary of the Big Band Jazz de México (2012), TV series Nota Dominante (2014), and several musical videos for the Mexican Jazz ecology, including: Calacas Jazz Band, Los Músicos de José, Alex Mercado, Tino Contreras, Big Band Jazz de México, among others. He had worked in various communication and advertising companies such as: Once TV, Reuters, Central Buzz, Publicis, Genomma Lab and Olabuenaga-Chemistri, where he was responsible for Mexico's official international campaign "Mexico: live it to believe it".

In 2015, he was awarded with the FONCA-CONACYT national scholarship for studies abroad in the Cultural Management realm. That same year (2017) Luis Felipe obtained his second master's degree in Arts and Cultural Management at the University of Melbourne and was selected in the Global Cultural Fellowship 2017 organised by the IICR (Institute for International Cultural Relations) of the University of Edinburgh. In 2021 Luis Felipe completed a third Master's Degree in Film at Queen's University Belfast in Northern Ireland (Great Britain), his film dissertation addresses the ethical problems of ghostwriting in Mexico. Several of Luis Felipe's audiovisual contents have been broadcast in Mexico (state-owned television stations), USA (Mexicanal), and Australia (C-31). Given his inclination for the arts, he has given various conferences in Australia, the United States, and Mexico; he has moderated presentations and debates, and has been the subject of a significant number of interviews. Combining his different activities, since 2015 Luis Felipe writes, conducts interviews, and films capsules on history, media and cultural industries for HOTBOOK magazine; he teaches at the advertising school of the UPAEP at master's and bachelor's level.
