Biography

Chitrankar Sen, known professionally as Pratik Sen is an Indian film and television actor, who predominantly works in the Bengali film industry in commercial cinema and serials. He is also a singer, poet and an entrepreneur. Pratik was born in Kolkata on 6 May 1985 to Anuradha Sen, and grew up in Deoghar, Jharkhand.

Pratik got his first film role in Amar Bodyguard (2013) but his first film release was Prem Bandhan (2009). He then was seen in Passport (2012), Om Shanti (2012) and Dekha Holo Dujonay (2013). In 2015, he worked with late director Bappaditya Bandyopadhyay in Sohra Bridge (2016) which was an official selection in the Indian Panorama section at the 46th International Film Festival of India. In 2017, Pratik starred opposite veterans Soumitra Chatterjee, Deepankar De in Chol Kuntal (2017). This was followed by Bhalobashar Bari (2018) and Atithi (2019). Over the years, Pratik received widespread acclaim and recognition.

Following the recognition received for Sohra Bridge, Pratik landed his first television serial, the super hit comedy drama Khokababu (2016), in which he played the titular role co-starring with Trina Saha. Pratik won 8 awards and 7 nominations for Khokababu between 2016-2018. In 2019, Pratik returned to television with the super hit family drama Mohor (2019) paired with Sonamoni Saha, which saw them become Bengali TV's favourite couple. Recognized as one of the most natural and versatile television actors in the Bengali film industry, Pratik continued his winning spree with 8 awards and 4 nominations for Mohor.

After the completion of Mohor, Pratik essayed the challenging role of the disabled Shaheb Mukherjee in Acropoliis Entertainment's Shaheber Chithi (2022) alongside Debchandrima Singha Roy.

The international award winning documentary and feature filmmaker Mainak Bhaumik had planned a feature film "Behaya" with Pratik and his Mohor co-star Sonamoni Saha but it was shelved.

After Shaheber Chithi (2022), Pratik joined Magic Moments's serial Ekka Dokka (2022) as a parallel male lead. The serial brought back fan favourites, Pratik and Sonamoni Saha to share screen space. Ekka Dokka completed its run in September 2023.

Pratik returned to the small screen in May 2024 as the lead in Surinder Films' serial "Uraan", alongside debutante Ratnapriya Das. Their on-screen pairing was well-appreciated by audiences. Uraan completed its journey in early March 2025.

In July 2025, Pratik returned to television with the serial Amader Dadamoni on Zee Bangla, produced by Nilanjana Sengupta nee Nilanjana Sharma's 'Nini Chini's Mamma's Production House', playing the titular role "Dadamoni" paired with the very talented, Anushkaa Chakraborty. This also marked Pratik's first collaboration with Zee Bangla, indicating a new phase in his television career. Pratik clinched his third West Bengal Tele Academy Best Actor Award in 2025 for Amader Dadamoni, a role layered with complexity, depth, and emotional nuance, giving him the perfect canvas to stretch his repertoire as an artist. "Amader Dadamoni" aired its last episode in April 2026.
