Papu Deka is a celebrated Indian/Assamese cinematographer with an impressive portfolio of over 25 feature films in North Eastern regional cinema. He has garnered recognition with the State Award in 2018 for "Nodi Mathu Boi" and the Prag Award for Pikhaas in 2025. After refining his cinematography craft at JCFTI, he has worked on numerous national and international award-winning films,ads like Har Ghar tiranga,SBI ad, also collaborating with esteemed actors like Adil Hussain in the film Lorni. His cinematography work is featured on prominent streaming platforms such as Hotstar Amazon prime and SonyLIVE. Recently, he lent his expertise to a Bollywood film with Platoon One Films, starring Vinay Pathak and Sharib Hashmi. Deka has also explored production and direction, making his mark with "Alokanv," an Arunachali galo film selected for the Kolkata and Bengaluru International Film Festivals, and also produced a Assamese film "Bhoot Jolokiya," in 2024 which showcasing versatility in the film industry.
