She is the daughter of Grammy Award winning singer Angélique Kidjo and composer Jean Hebrail.

French is her first language.

She is a television and theater actress who has performed regularly on Chicago stages, such as Steppenwolf Theatre Company. Naïma is a graduate of Yale University and the School at Steppenwolf.
