Biography

  • Austin Rodgers is a director, writer, and cinematographer based in Portland, Oregon. He was born on January 27th, 2000. At an early age, he began to grow an interest in filmmaking after being introduced to the works of Steven Spielberg and Martin Scorsese with films like E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial (1982) and Goodfellas (1990). As his curiosity grew, he started to make short sketches with friends and stop-motion animations.

As a young teenager, Austin worked numerous jobs on local film sets around the city of Portland and Vancouver, WA in order to develop his education and knowledge of the medium and industry; starting off in the sound department and working his way up the latter. At 16, he wrote and directed the short film Choices (2017) which toured various film festivals around the world and ran as a semi-finalist in the Los Angeles Cinefest competition in 2017. In 2018, he moved to Los Angeles in order to attend the New York Film Academy.

I am now focusing on evolving his unique perspective as a filmmaker. Shortly after, Austin released his short film Budz (2020), Opening Night (2022), Marie (2023) and They're Here (2024). He is currently working on his feature directorial debut, Help Me.
