Biography

David Hanly was born in 1944 in Fairgreen, Limerick, Ireland. He was a writer, known for Hanly's People (1985). He died on November 21, 2025 in Dublin, Ireland.

Worked for Bord Fáilte during which time he travelled widely, particularly in the US.

Awarded a Jacob's Award in 1985.

Also wrote a column for the Sunday Tribune and presented an RTÉ radio programme celebrating poets and poetry.
