- Joe McNeal is an actor and a nationally and internationally award-winning writer, director, and producer. He is also the Chief Executive Officer of Universal Spectrums Entertainment LLC and has worked extensively as a consultant on film sets, particularly in law enforcement roles.
Joe co-wrote the award-winning feature script Ancestors from the Stars and created, produced, and directed the multi-award-winning short documentary Angels Do Fly West. In 2019, he co-produced the feature film Teller’s Camp, where he also served as a consultant, prop master, and actor, portraying Sammie. The film is slated for release in early 2025.
As an actor, Joe has appeared in a variety of film and television projects. He starred in the short film Step 9 and appeared in the feature film Buster’s Mal Heart (2016) alongside Academy Award winner Rami Malek and Academy Award nominee Lily Gladstone. His additional credits include roles in the short film Haunt (2018) as "The Ticket-Taker," the upcoming feature Pellett, and the television series Warden’s: Case Files.
Joe has also appeared in web series, including Please Stay Quiet as Ramone Vega and the award-winning series Riley Parra as a police detective. He was featured in the music video Miss Smith by the international French rock group Moodoïd, where he played Officer Covington and contributed original dialogue inspired by his law enforcement background. His on-screen work also includes appearances in ten television commercials, spanning both dramatic and comedic roles.
Before transitioning into the entertainment industry, Joe served 25 years in law enforcement. He continues to draw on this experience as a consultant for film and television productions.
Joe is represented by Rocky Mountain Agency. He was born and raised in the mountains of Western Montana, where he continues to reside and enjoy outdoor activities such as backcountry exploration, fishing, hiking, and hunting.
