- James was born in Cheshire, England and studied medicine at Cambridge University. He is a fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England, attained an MA in film directing with Raindance, London and is a member of BAFTA Connect. The founder of Arthrofilm Independent Productions and owner of The Factory Film Studios in the Midlands, James is a writer, director and producer with a passion for narrative fiction. During the covid pandemic he co-founded On Set Solutions, providing covid screening for film and television. In his spare time he is a knee surgeon in Oxfordshire. James is best known for the feature film BITE (Amazon Prime) which had its world premiere at FrightFest, London 2022. Arthrofilm has also collaborated with Stigma Films on two other feature films; Sci-Fi thriller T.I.M. staring Georgina Campbell, (Netflix No1 movie), and horror film Daddy's Head (Shudder, UK). James has recently produced and directed Arthrofilm's latest feature, HOARDER, which screened at Frightfest in August 2026.
