Kwaku has photographed and directed some of the most influential faces of our time-from Oscar and Grammy Award winners to President Barack Obama and the First Family. His work feels fresh and unaffected, while still honoring the extraordinariness of his subjects.
After graduating from the Rochester Institute of Technology, Kwaku launched his career in New York City, quickly shooting for major magazines and advertising agencies in his early twenties. Today, he is based between New York and Los Angeles, with work spanning movie posters, covers of bestselling books, and advertising campaigns and commercial spots for international brands.
In 2025, Kwaku received the Distinguished Alumnus Award from the Rochester Institute of Technology, where he also delivered the commencement address for the College of Imaging Arts and Sciences.
