Francesco Catarinolo is a director can boast a long experience in the audiovisual sector, in different fields that have allowed him to exercise different languages and to refine his talents as a narrator over time. After graduating from Dams, his work experience began in an advertising agency. He is more comfortable there, working as an operator, editor and director. There are several companies and television stations with which it collaborates, such as Sky. In 2012, He became a video reporter for the newspaper: La Repubblica. He collaborated with Riccardo Staglianò on the realization of the documentaries: Terza Repubblica and Futuro Interrotto. The turning point will then take place with the foundation in 2013 of Studio Pandora, a production company specialized in the creation of animated content, that has became an important reality on the Turin scene. Francesco begins his career as a producer, with the Studio Pandora, he became a member of Cartoon Italia, the National Association of Animation Producers. Also in 2021 he has shot the documentary: La Casa Rossa, filmed in Greenland, an Italian/German production was co-produced by broadcasters: ARTE, NDR, RTS, AL JAZEERA INTERNATIONAL, that has been selected and won awards in numerous international film festivals.

Francesco Catarinolo is an Italian film director and producer who develops projects that blend documentary with animation and international audiovisual storytelling.

Throughout his career, he has built an atypical path, moving naturally between cinema, television, advertising, and animated series, combining an authorial sensibility with a strong production approach. This versatility allows him to tackle very different mediums, always maintaining a strong focus on visual construction, characters, and narrative pacing.

After his experience as a video reporter for La Repubblica, he collaborated on the making of the documentaries Terza Repubblica and Futuro Interrotto. In 2013, he founded Studio Pandora, an independent production company based in Turin, through which he develops films, documentaries, and TV series aimed at both the Italian and international markets.

He directed the documentary The Red House, co-produced with European broadcasters such as ARTE, NDR, RTS, and Al Jazeera International. It was presented at numerous international festivals, where it received significant awards. Subsequently, he directed Bob Noto, The World's Finest Palate, dedicated to the famous food photographer from Turin, and the animated short film Laika, Brave Dog, which is currently being distributed at festivals worldwide.

In parallel, he directs advertising campaigns, music videos, and branded content for international brands such as Warner Music, Ferrero, Allianz, Decathlon, Oreo, New Holland, Petronas, and others. Through this work, he has developed solid experience in crew direction, complex production management, and the creation of highly visual content.

In recent years, his work has increasingly focused on the development of serialized projects and international co-productions. He is currently the director of the animated series Will Moogley Ghost Agency, produced with the support of Rai Kids, and the international documentary Trust These People, an Italian-French co-production that recounts the Italian national rugby team's tour in apartheid South Africa using a language that combines documentary, animation, and archival footage.

A member of AIR3 (Italian Directors Guild), DocIt, and 100autori, Francesco Catarinolo belongs to a new generation of European filmmakers capable of crossing the boundaries between cinema, television, and serialized content, with an approach that combines an authorial vision, production reliability, and an international vocation.
