In 2021, Zagorodnii starred in Firebird as Roman. The film is set in the 1970s at the height of the Cold War and tells about the love relationship that broke out between Soviet Air Force Lieutenant Roman Matveev (Oleg Zagorodnii) and Private Sergey Serebrennikov.
