- Farzad Shahab is an Iranian filmmaker and cinematographer who began his film journey in high school while studying for a diploma in Film and Theater. He then pursued a bachelor's degree in Film Directing at Pars University in Tehran and is also an alumnus of the Iranian Youth Cinema Society's Film Program 2019, BAFA Asian Film Academy Lab 2024, and Berlinale Talents 2025. He received his master's degree in Film from the University of Paris in 2025. Since 2018, his works as a filmmaker and cinematographer have been screened at numerous prestigious film festivals around the world. He is the cinematographer behind Jouissance (2022), which was selected at the Busan International Film Festival 2022. He won the Best Cinematography Award at the Wegiel Film Festival 2024 for the short film The Steak (2023), which has also been praised at the Short Shorts Film Festival & Asia 2023, the Slamdance Film Festival 2024, Tirana International Film Festival, and the Norwegian International Film Festival Haugesund 2024. Some of the other notable short films he has shot include Nafiri (2020), She Who Wasn't Tamed (2019), and The Gull's Shriek (2020).
