Biography

Lalisa Manobal, also known by her stage name Lisa, is a singer, rapper, dancer, songwriter, actress, producer, model, fashion designer, and owner of LLOUD, her management company. Lisa exhibited a strong passion for singing and dancing from the age of four. She took lessons and was active in a local dance crew named We Zaa Cool as well as in a national singing competition where her school team placed second. At age 13, Lisa was the only one of 4,000 applicants to pass YG Entertainment's audition for its first Thai trainee. In 2011, she moved to South Korea to begin five years of training in the disciplines necessary to become a successful K-pop artist. In August 2016, Lisa debuted as the youngest member of the four-member girl group Blackpink, which quickly grew into one of the most successful female groups of all time; by revenue, fans, and global impact.

Lisa was born in the Buriram Province of Thailand. Her parents are Chitthip Brüschweiler and Marco Brüschweiler, a renowned Swiss chef. Her mother had dreamed of becoming an actress, so she enrolled Lisa in acting classes in addition to dance and voice training. Lisa’s formal education was completed at Praphamontree Private Schools near Bangkok. She is fluent in English, Thai, and Korean, with limited proficiency in Chinese and Japanese.
