Nick Launchbury

Nick Launchbury is an Australian actor, filmmaker and acting coach. His screen credits include Storm Boy, RFDS, ABC’s Ladies in Black, Electric Feel and Frankenstein’s Bride, in which he portrays Dr Viktor Frankenstein. Most recently, he worked on Lady Death, the World War II action-horror film from writer-director Kiah Roache-Turner.
Projects featuring Launchbury have screened at Flickerfest and the Adelaide Film Festival, including Get a Life and Mating Call. He also appears in Paul Evans Thomas’s feature film Within the Pines, which received First Prize for Best Feature Film at the 2024 Rhode Island International Film Festival.
Launchbury’s approach to performance has been shaped by his study of the Howard Fine and Uta Hagen acting techniques. He also coaches actors in self-taping and on-camera performance. He co-founded Prompt Side Actors’ Collective with actor Brett Archer, where he teaches and mentors emerging and established performers.
