Duran Jones

Duran, is a graduate of The American Film Institute Conservatory (class of 2021), a 2020 PGA Power of Diversity workshop fellow, a Sundance Feature Film Producers Lab Fellow, and a winner of the Grand Prix and Best Producer Award at the Holly Shorts Film Festival, and a resident of the Mara Brock Akil "Writer's Colony." While building a film slate under his BLK MGC Content banner, the rapper turned filmmaker has forayed into the directing chair. The most recent short for the writer-director, "Time is Money," premiered at the 2025 RiverRun Film Festival and snagged the Best Director award at the 2025 Diversity in Cannes Showcase. His upcoming documentary, "CHarriet," about a key figure in the migration of black expats to Panama, is in post-production.
