Biography

El Silencio del Río, currently in distribution, is her second short film shot in the Amazon river, premiered at the Berlinale 2020. After winning the Grand Jury Award at the Oscar Qualifier Calgary International Film Festival (CIFF) it is eligible to be submitted to the Academy Awards 2021. Her first Short Film AYA, obtained the price of Best Ibero American Short Film at the Guadalajara's International Film Festival (FICG) 2017 and gain international attention from the cinema critics. Nowadays, she works as a music video and advertising director while she works on the development of her first feature film script''BELEN'' to be shot in 2022.

After studying a scriptwriting degree at the EICTV from Cuba, she's currently in the Pre Production of her first feature La Otra Orilla Selected at the Sundance Screenwriters Lab 2024 and Winner of the CNC Production Fund from France 2023. Recentrly she was selected at the Sundance Women To Watch X Adobe Fellowship 2024.

Francesca was part of the Talents Buenos Aires 2021. Her first Short Film AYA, shot in the Peruvian Andes, obtained the Best Ibero American Short Film Award at the Guadalajara's Film festival 2017.

She's represented by the Production Company Primo Content in Latam with whom she obtained 5 Golden Lions through her Plastic Fishing Campaign for Corona at the Cannes Lions 2022. That year she was listed on the Top ten Director's of the year since Cannes Lions.

She studied Cinema at the University from Montpellier and she holds a Master degree in Direction from the ESCAC, the Cinema School from Catalunya.
