He has worked with world-renowned poets such as Pablo Neruda and Mario Benedetti in composing music for their texts, which led to the creation of songs such as "Te Quiero" (I Love You), and "Por que cantamos" (Why We Sing), which are sung by choirs and performers around the world. He has earned recognition for his contributions to Musical Theatre and Jazz Music from audiences and colleagues around the world. He composed the "Suite Trane", a Suite in five movements for Jazz Orchestra and Soloist as an homage to John Coltrane, which was performed at several Jazz International Festivals around the world (Madrid, Spain, Buenos Aires, Argentina, Milan, Italy and Lugano, Switzerland). He also composed the music for "Eva, the Great Argentine Musical", a multi-awarded, critically acclaimed musical about the life of Eva Peron. He served as Music Director for musicals such as "Kiss of the Spider Woman" with Harold Prince as director, "Les Miserables", "Piaf", "Sweeney Todd", among others in Calle Corrientes (the Broadway Equivalent in Argentina), and "Cabaret", "Victor Victoria", and "The Graduate" at La Gran Via, the Broadway Equivalent in Spain. He was chosen by director and choreographer Jerome Robbins to serve as the piano soloist for the Europe and South America Tours of his piece "Other Dances", starring Alessandra Ferri and Julio Bocca.

During the pandemic, more than 1000 people, part of over 50 choirs in Latin America came together to create united choir versions of "Te Quiero" and "Por que cantamos", each performer singing Alberto's arrangement from their homes, working with their respective choir directors.
