Paloma Lingwei Chen was born in Beijing, China, to a Spanish father and a Chinese mother - a bi-cultural upbringing that shaped her instinct for cross-cultural storytelling. After earning a degree in TV Journalism from Sichuan University, she spent three years as a video journalist at Guangzhou Daily, one of South China's most widely read newspapers, shooting and producing short documentaries as a one-woman crew.
In 2016, she moved to the United States to pursue an MFA in Film Production at Chapman University, where she directed several short films that went on to screen at Mill Valley Film Festival and Sedona International Film Festival. Paloma has since built a producing career across documentary, unscripted television, and archival production. Her archival work spans projects for Amazon Prime Video, Red Bull Media, and independent documentary productions, where she specializes in research-driven storytelling and the sourcing and verification of historical footage. She has also produced nearly 10 vertical-form mini-series for Chinese-owned platforms targeting US audiences, serving as the bridge between Chinese clients and Los Angeles-based cast and crew.
Trilingual in Chinese, English, and Spanish, Paloma brings a cross-cultural fluency to every project she works on.
