Shane Van Pelt is a visual artist and writer of stories and screenplays. His artworks are in museums, mainly the American Visionary Art Museum. Van Pelt has acted in small films and has written a number of screenplays. Van Pelt co-wrote a screenplay for a TV series based on Navajo mythology, the short film version has won various awards from film festivals throughout the U.S.A.
