Eydie Faye

Eydie Faye is an award-adjacent writer who definitely did not write this bio herself (but if she had, she’d probably open with a quirky self-deprecating joke and a subtle humblebrag... check and check). Born in the San Fernando Valley, Eydie was raised on the 101 freeway on a steady diet of dry heat, musical theatre, and generalized anxiety. She earned her BFA from the University of Cincinnati’s College-Conservatory of Music, because nothing says "job security" like a theater degree. Her special skills include writing a JoJo Siwa musical during a global pandemic and maintaining a 750+ day streak on Candy Crush Soda Saga, a game she could absolutely quit at any time. She just... hasn’t. Eydie’s most recent credits include Camp Rock 3 and Zombies 5: Secrets of the Sea, though her Hollywood debut came much earlier, at the tender age of 7, when she appeared uncredited as Chunk’s sister in The Goonies, because in real life, she actually is Chunk’s sister. But never fear: being referred to as "Chunk’s sister" her entire childhood didn’t scar her at all. Just ask her therapist. Her earliest memories involve being schlepped to all of her brother’s auditions in the back of a station wagon, stuck in gridlock over Laurel Canyon while desperately needing to pee. This turned out to be both her villain origin story and probably the reason she became a writer. Fortunately, Jeff is now her entertainment attorney, so she was legally required to forgive him for the childhood trauma. Eydie started out as a playwright. Her first play, The Pages of My Diary I’d Rather Not Read, earned her a Best New Playwright nomination from LA Weekly. She later wrote and produced the original musical Dear John Mayer, with music by and starring Tony winner Shoshana Bean. Her TV credits include two seasons on Fuller House (where she wrote heartfelt episodes like "Uncle Jesse’s Adventures in Babysitting" and "Glazed and Confused"). She also wrote the Disney+ original movie The Slumber Party, which, fun fact, was nominated for a Children’s and Family Emmy. Sure, she lost to Velveteen Rabbit (whoever that is), but it’s an honor just to name-drop it in this paragraph. She’s also sold a number of original pilots you’ve never heard of to ABC, NBC, USA, Netflix, and Disney+, which is barely even soul-crushing anymore. Honestly, she’s fine. Totally fine. Eydie is the proud and perpetually humbled mom of three teenage daughters, who provide a nonstop stream of one-liners, eye-rolls, and extremely specific notes on her parenting and wardrobe. She lovingly mines all of their experiences for writing material. So. Much. Material. She credits her modest success to an aggressive fear of failure, an overdeveloped sense of responsibility, and the faint hope of one day impressing her mother.
