Biography

Lenka Talska

Mini bio

  • Lenka Talska was born in Brno, Czech Republic in 1964 when the Czech Republic was then known as Czechoslovakia, and had a Communist government. She is a visual artist, and comes from a family of Artists and Musicians (her maternal Grandfather was a well known painter by the name of Josef Konecny.) She was one of the few females that played the role of a Yeshiva boy in Barbra Streisand's film "Yentl." Streisand was going for an androgynous look for the students, and chose females, a fact that few even still know today. It was a huge task trying to be in this American film in 1982, as she was a high school student and was almost dropped from classes. Participating in this film was at great risk, as later she may have been not accepted to university because of the American - Communists tensions at that time. She is fluent in English, Greek and Czech languages. Today Lenka lives in America, and continues her visual art and is now active in the Independent film industry.
