Salustiano Leyva
Salustiano Leyva was a Cuban peasant who, at age 11, witnessed José Martí's arrival at Playitas de Cajobabo in 1895. Decades later, Fidel Castro visited him, honoring his role as a living link to Cuba's independence struggle. Leyva's story was immortalized in Santiago Álvarez's documentary My Brother Fidel, which highlighted Leyva's humble life and enduring legacy.
