- Bernadette Perry was born in Wapping on 2 July 1959, daughter of artist and engineer Edward Perry, who's grandfather was the Governor General of the Irish Free State, Tim Healey, leader of the Irish Nationalist Party which included other brothers and relatives. Bernadette's mother was Josephine Kennedy, who was a great niece of Senator Joseph Kennedy and second cousin to President John, Robert, and Edward Kennedy. Bernadette was educated at an East London private convent school. She was taught art by her father, Edward, who has a degree in art from St Martins Art School. He also encouraged her interest in the classical guitar. Her mother, Josephine was found dead in 1994 and a police inquiry was launched.
Bernadette suffered massive head injuries in 23 January 2010, the description of which conflicted with the forensic evidence. Her life was saved by a leading neurosurgeon but she remained in a permanent vegetative state until her death on 27 October 2010.
