Biography

Chiara is a writer and director based in Dublin. They started writing at an early age and began focusing on filmmaking in 2015. Among their short film work Be Frank was nominated for the Rising Star Award at the 8th Underground Film Festival in 2017 and The Plait premiered at IndieCork Film Festival in 2020. Chiara's Arts Council funded short film La Via Di Casa/The Way Home won Best Irish Poetry Short at Bloomsday Film Festival in 2025. Chiara's first feature The New Music won the Spirit Of IndieCork Award in 2019, was released in 2021 and is distributed worldwide by Silver Mountain Distribution. The New Music premiered in Italy in 2023 at the Cinema Massimo in Turin in association with the National Museum Of Cinema. Chiara's feature screenplay 11 Ragman Street was funded by Screen Ireland and is being developed with their co-founded production company Built To Fail Productions.
