Biography

Born in Misrata, Libya and brought up in New Delhi, after a short hotel management course Rahul Tanwar began his life working at India Habitat centre, observing theatre / film personalities closely and he got fascinated by them. After giving up eight odd small jobs over seven years, he realised his real passion and explored his journey.

In 2011,Rahul Kumar Tanwar chose to swim across the tide and enrolled himself to persue long delayed passion of Direction & script writing from Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Dept. of Film & TV studies.New Delhi , where he Directed, wrote and acted in many project short films.

In 2012,Rahul Tanwar began as Assistant Director in an Indo-American film "UN-FREEDOM (2014)" Directed By Raj Amit Kumar & Damon Taylor ,Starring Adil Hussain, Victor Bannerji.

Followed by this in same year, Joined Ihsan talkies production & Associated with his mentor, Award winning documentary director Mr. Neeraj Bhasin for the video documentation of 12th Osian's Cinefan film Festival organised by well know entrepreneur Mr. Neville Tuli & Aruna Vasudev,with most globally noted film makers, actors and technicians from entire film fraternity of asian and arab cinema and bollywood which screened films such as Gangs of wasseypur2, Rockstar,Pan singh tomar, Shanghai, Dhobighat and many more films with their Cast & Crew.

Meanwhile, Assisted & Wrote many documentary segments for Metropolis TV VPRO ,which is a Popular dutch web channel.

In 2013 , alongwith Mr. Neeraj Bhasin,under the mentorship of Filmmaker Mr. Shekhar Kapur and Scenographer Padamashree Rajiv Sethi , made collective short doccumentaries 'Jaya hae diaries' on Indian art travelling around the nation and it's interiors. It's a globally reputed project of GVK Art Museum at Terminal 2 Mumbai International Airport. (2013 -2014).

In 2015, worked with Bijan ads & films as Creative director , writer and Associate Director, & later year in 2016,joined Kathputlee arts & films, Where he was responsible for all the creative activities which includes various short film,Corporate films, Tv commercials (Idea generation,Jingles,Catch phrase,lyrics,Direction,post production,Casting etc) , Creative Prints, stills & 360 solutions and animated short films.

In 2016 , "Parchhai" a small feature film as Lead actor for AISFM ,Annapoorna Studios, Hyderabad under mentorship of Veteran Actress Amala Akinneni which was also Screened at Films Division of India in July 2016 and appreciated by many noted pioneers of Indian cinema.

In 2017, Joined Magical Dreams Productions Pvt. Ltd. ,Makers of 2016 International award winning Bollywood movie "31st October" and One of the leading production houses in the Indian Film Industry based in Delhi and Mumbai.

In 2018 began his new Journey as an Independent film production "Inventive films" with a vision to make an identity in the field of advertising and cinema and written directed a short feature film "Who am i? Starring veteran bollywood actor Parikshit Balraj Sahni which has got OFFICIAL SELECTION - IFFSA Toronto 2019.

In 2019 Written & Directed a spooky thriller short film Viram - Searching an Interlude (2019) which is competing in various film festivals across the globe.

In 2025, under the banner of home production Inventive Films, Rahul is producing & directing various films & music videos
