Of Ghanaian heritage, Philips Nortey was born and raised in North West London. Before pursuing acting professionally, he spent over a decade in professional football, developing the discipline and physicality that now inform his performances. His early exposure to film came through his father, a Colour Grade Technician at Technicolor, sparking a deep connection to storytelling from a young age watching films as a family.

Alongside acting, Nortey has built a strong reputation as a 1st Assistant Director in the UK, working across high-profile productions both in UK and globally with internationally recognized talent. This production background brings a precise, grounded understanding to his work on screen.
