Mini bio

  • Joseph Le is a Vietnamese American film director specializing in action and horror. Renowned for his distinctive directorial approach, Joseph has consistently delivered deeply personal and surrealistic stories through acclaimed works such as 'Twisting Tiger,' 'Out of Body,' and 'Mulan: An East Side Story.'

Joseph's filmmaking journey began in 2014 when he started creating action shorts with local martial artists in Virginia. His signature style seamlessly fuses the cadence of Hong Kong action choreography with the hyperrealism of anime. In 2019, his talent quickly captured the attention of the late and legendary Brad Allan, a veteran of the Jackie Chan Stunt Team and esteemed 2nd Unit Director, leading to collaborations on major blockbusters like Marvel's 'Shang-Chi.' Afterwards, he worked on 'Everything Everywhere All at Once' with Martial Club, and 'Knights of the Zodiac' with Andy Cheng.

Prior to directing, Joseph proved to be a versatile artist who has also made significant contributions as a storyboard artist for video game TV spots (Death Stranding, The Last of Us 2). His goal is to create action films that make you think, and to become a trailblazer for future DIY filmmakers.

Currently, Joseph is in the creative process of writing his first feature-length horror-action film.
