Mike Berners-Lee is both an author and expert in climate change, sustainable organization development, and carbon metrics. He's made contributions to bring awareness to carbon sources of everyday things. He's written books such as The Burning Question and How Bad are Bananas? In an interview, he talks about the different factors that cause continuation of large mass fossil fuel consumption. These three factors are political, economic, and social barriers. One political reason we aren't moving past coal and diesel he brought up is due to politicians not being imaginative and brave enough to sell a vision for a new kind of future. "It's also politicians," he says. "...being under the power of vested interests of the fossil fuel industry." Mike Berners-Lee also brings up how the food system leads to global climate increase.
