Biography

Karissa Murrell Myers is an actress born and raised in Boise, Idaho. The oldest of three kids, she found her passion in theatre and drama at a very young age and began pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in both acting and directing, along with a minor in music, at Boise State University at the age of 16.

After graduating with honors in 2008, she collaborated with local theatre companies as a director and an actor, including her own company that she started called The Broken Illusion Project. In 2011, she moved to Honolulu, Hawaii to pursue her Master of Fine Arts in Western Performance from the University of Hawaii at Manoa. There, she received three nominations from the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival Irene Ryan Awards for her stage work and represented UH at multiple acting competitions. She also received a Po'okela Award for her portrayal of Ruth in Blithe Spirit at Kennedy Theatre in Honolulu. While on the island, she met her husband, Mark Myers, and married him in 2013.

She graduated in 2014 and moved to Chicago, Illinois to pursue her professional acting career, where she has been cast in numerous theatre projects and has booked roles on The Exorcist and Chicago MED. She still lives in the beautiful Windy City with Mark and their beloved adopted mutt, Rosie.
