Maria João Costa (PT), is the creator of Payback (Ouro Verde) winner of the 2018 International Emmy Award at "telenovela" category, and finalist on Platino Awards, as Best TV Series Creator category.

She has more than 700 hours produced of prime time TV.

Maria João studied law but professionally she started do be a journalist. Currently living in Monaco, she worked as publisher for ten years both in Portugal and Brasil from 2006 until 2016. Specialist in tendencies, Maria João Costa edited several best-sellers in both countries.

Notwithstanding a very successful career in editing, in 2017 she started to write her own stories.

Female activist, in 2012 launched a national campaign against stalking after she had been through that. Her writing reflects her social concerns.
