Paula Andrea Cajiao is an award-winning director, screenwriter, actor, and U.S. Army combat veteran. Born in Cali, Colombia, she immigrated to the United States at sixteen and later served as a U.S. Army nurse, deploying to Iraq from 2008 to 2009. Her short film Shell Shocked received the Excellence in Directing Award from The New York Women in Film & Television in collaboration with the SOHO International Film Festival and won Best Actor at the GI Film Festival. The film was also nominated for the Grand Jury Prize at the Richmond International Film Festival and Best Film at the GI Film Festival.
